Summer Learning Opportunities with our new Rabbis!
A Toe in the Sea of Ink: Talmud with Rabbi Kaye
Wednesdays, July 13, 20, 27, 7:30 pm
Come and learn a few pages of Talmud with Holy Blossom Temple’s new Associate Rabbi, Samuel Kaye! Experienced learners and newcomers alike are welcome to delve into a ‘sea of ink’, the Babylonian Talmud. Together we will learn a little bit about the world of the Rabbis 2000 years ago, what they believed, the logical arguments they made, and of course how they shaped the Jewish world. Translations and original texts will be provided.
Facets of Jewish Feminism
Wednesdays, August 3, 10 and 17, 7:30 pm
As we celebrate 50 years of women’s ordination in North America, join Rabbi Eliza McCarroll for a special summer course spanning the history, philosophy, and theology of Jewish feminism. Drawing on her rabbinic thesis, this is a way of honouring our past, seeing how far we’ve come, and learning how far we’ve still got to go.
