Our Temple Educator Team – TODAH RABAH!

By Debbie Spiegel

It is at this time of the year in the Department of Education, that we often sit back, look back and breathe in and out a few times, and say thank you to our wonderful professional team of teachers throughout the department.

Thank you to our Early Childhood Centre teachers and staff, who have made this a very special year for our children. Throughout the year and especially throughout these last few months we have found ways to engage with our youngest students. Little Blossoms is stronger than ever. We look forward to continuing with Marky through the summer. Our ECC under the guidance of Wendy Himmel has lifted our ECC in stature. We have a full complement of children ready to join us in September. We are so thankful and proud of those teachers for their continued commitment to Holy Blossom.

Our Youth Education Centre teachers, madrichim (student teachers), and assistants have been tremendous this year. We thank them for their dedication and tireless efforts throughout the year and in particular in the past months, zooming, face timing, or what’sApping – whatever it took to have a continuous connection to their students. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces each week during our very spectacular tefillah with David Gershon. We thank you all for your persistence and for ensuring our children stay connected to their Holy Blossom roots during the pandemic. One of our teachers wrote a beautiful note to her students, Please read here.

We also thank our adult education team – those who taught and those who learned. We would not have had one without the other. Our adult students all learned new skills, as did our teachers. Who knew how to “zoom”? Thank you to one and all for joining us daily, or weekly. We are looking forward to adding more content in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more uplifting and excellent programming.

With best wishes for a wonderful healthy Spring into Summer,

Debbie Spiegel
