Holy Grounds Café

The newest addition to the Schwartz/Reisman Atrium is waiting for you. Come and taste the coffee. Holy Grounds Café is pleased to be bringing Detour Coffee to Holy Blossom Temple and to mid-town Toronto.

For almost a decade, their mission has remained unchanged. They believe that if they source the world’s highest quality green coffees and roast them to order, people will fall in love with what’s in the cup.

Learn more about Detour #nomorebadcups  here.

 What’s happening?

If you are a visual learner, come to Holy Blossom Temple for a Coffee Cupping Experience on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4th at 10:00 am.  Come learn how to properly smell, taste, and evaluate coffee and learn about the factors making coffee one of the most complex beverages on earth.

On MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, at 10:00am, come have Coffee and Conversation with Rabbi Yael Splansky.

On WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, at 10:00 am, come have Coffee and Conversation with Rabbi Zachary Goodman

You’re invited to come, relax, schmooze, or work in our beautiful space with free parking and free Wi-Fi. And as an added bonus the coffee is free until December 18th.

But the Café will provide more than just coffee.  It will be catering events at Holy Blossom Temple including the Kiddush lunch every Saturday   (insert picture)

In the new year, Holy Grounds will provide take-out pastries and sandwiches, great challah on Fridays and more….

Until December 18, the Café is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, Sunday from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and Monday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Thanks so much for the update, Les.
    This is great to know.
I will definitely drop by with friends in the next little while.

Andrew prepared a delicious latte for me. If you want a bottomless cup, read Yehuda Amichai’s short poem, “Poem Without an End,” while sipping the best coffee.

It would be wonderful if Holy Grounds could arrange to source its Friday Challahs from the REENA BAKERS who make wonderful breads and bagels in the newly created REENA KITCHEN .

The new kitchen will be serving as the primary preparation location for all kosher Meals on Wheels Toronto.

The Kitchen was recently opened and dedicated, and is funded by a Trillium Grant along with monies raised by the Joel Schwartz Memorial Hockey Tournament. Joel had an autism spectrum disorder and became a bar mitzvah and confirmand at Holy B. He was born in 1983 and died of an accidental overdose of a prescribed medication in 2009.
Challah was his most favorite food !

Please let me know if you would like me to introduce Holy Grounds to the supervisor of the REENA Kitchen.

      Dear Julie
Thank you for your suggestions about Holy Grounds and Reena. In fact, we are in discussions now about how we can partner with them . The timing is just right, as they open their Reena Kitchen and expand their food service offerings. If it works out, we’ll be doing more than challahs with Reena in the near future. Stay tuned and in the meantime come by and visit the café with your friends.
      All the best
