In renewal, stories

Mazel Tov! Phase 1 is OPEN!

After 18 years of talking, planning, designing, re-designing, engaging, fundraising and constructing … the day has finally come. Our Atrium and the rest of our beautiful new and renewed Phase 1 spaces are now officially open. Fittingly (and joyously), just in time for Kabbalat Shabbat, this evening!

So, if you haven’t already previewed our inspiring new spaces at our Housewarming, or perhaps the David Frum lecture (or even if you have), come and see for yourself. The incredible, light-filled Schwartz/Reisman Atrium – the living room of our new Holy Blossom Temple, connecting all aspects of Temple life. The new Mishkan/Family Chapel, a gorgeous new multi-purpose space where we can hold services, lectures and Simchas! Or just drop by and grab a comfortable spot in any one of a number of pleasing nooks and contemplative spaces, and get some work done. And then there’s our green Living Wall, a literal testament to our promise that Life Can Blossom Here.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be in the process of moving our people and things into their new spaces. And of course, ironing out the kinks and putting the final finishing touches on every inch of the place. But again, we are OPEN!

And our first big event, in the now officially open space, is the launch of The Luke Sklar Mental Health Initiative, Monday night at 7:30. Please click here to register, and join us in The Mishkan/Family Chapel to hear Dr. David Goldbloom speak on “Depression: It’s someone you know.”

We’ll close by thanking the hundreds and hundreds of committed Temple volunteers, fundraisers and contributors who have made this moment possible for our community, now, and for the coming generations. Even though there is still money left to be raised to complete Phase 1, we are so very appreciative of the continuing support of our congregation.

Friends, we have built what we dreamed we would build. It is wonderful that we are realizing our vision. And even more wonderful that we are realizing it, together.

Welcome to Holy Blossoms newest Rabbi Zachery Goodman who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and I’m so excited he will be helping me with our Monday’s @ the temple…for seniors when we start again October 28th. Super nice man. That and the newly built atrium and full renovation and all of the wonderful things the Temple has to offer make it even more of a lovely place.
