In renewal, stories

Hi all. Just a short update to let you know that our final inspection by the City’s building department yesterday turned up a couple of very minor issues that our contractor, Pomerleau, needs to take care of before we officially open our Atrium and the rest of our beautiful new and renewed Phase 1 spaces.

We expect to complete this work next week, open immediately thereafter and then gradually begin the process of moving staff and programming into the new spaces. Please be assured, we’ll update you with this news immediately with a special e-blast to the congregation.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and support, both financial and otherwise, of our Renewal Project.

March 2, 2019. I had an opportunity to view the Atrium during a snowfall when the ceiling was blanketed in white, the staircases, teal-blue ribbons spiralling and disappearing. Older sections of the original building seemed to be part of an archeological dig. The Hebrew letters on the balcony formed into words and verses, while a curtain of snowflakes on Dewbourne contributed to the kachol v’lavan experience — the blue and white of a winter Shabbat.
