Over $28 million now raised! And, suddenly, you can see our Atrium!
This is such a good news installment of our bi-weekly Renewal of Space report.
We’ve now raised over $28.1 million (of our total Phase 1 budget of $32.9 million), more than any congregation ever in Canadian history for a capital project. ALEINU – it is truly upon us … together, we are bringing our shared dream to life. Clearly, there is more to raise, but we thank all of our generous donors who are helping to create a new Holy Blossom Temple for each of us and for future generations.
And speaking of bringing our shared dream to life, take a look at these incredible photos of our central Atrium. Why does it look so different now? Since our last report, all of the interior scaffolding in the Atrium has come down, revealing the beauty of the design of our Temple living room, as it seamlessly blends our history with our future.
Truly, it is magnificent. Just imagine yourself spending time here, enjoying a cup of fresh coffee from Holy Grounds, our own café, as you chat with friends. Or getting a little work done in our library. Or maybe you want to enjoy a little contemplative space in the gallery at the south end of our second floor. One thing is certain, our new Phase 1 spaces, including our new Family Chapel, Youth Lounge, Tzedakah Centre and more, will change the way we experience Temple life.
So keep watching this space. We’ll update you on our progress over the rest of the summer, as we approach the coming High Holy Days, during which we’ll have access to the Atrium and the ability to explore other key parts of the new construction, as it’s coming to life. (Following the High Holy Days, our construction crew from Pomerleau will reoccupy these spaces for about 6-8 weeks to put the finishing touches on Phase 1.) And watch for an announcement soon about an exciting Grand Opening event planned for the first day of Chanukah in early December.
As you know, our (chutzpahdic) goal is to have Phase 1 as fully funded as possible by the High Holy Days – fitting in the season of Renewal. If you are ready to begin your own conversation about making a meaningful contribution to our Renewal Project, please reach out to Jonathan Ain, our Director of Development at 416-789-3291 (ext 249) or at [email protected]
As always, we thank you for your continued support (financial and otherwise) of our shared Renewal Project.
