Holy Blossom is now an Award Granting Unit for the Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global program with the goal of challenging, empowering and recognizing young people between the ages of 14 and 24. This award program encourages teens to build skills which will equip them for life and work. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the Award plays a critical role in development. The Award looks great on a resume, and is a personal challenge that is both non-academic and non-competitive. Encouraging young people to spend time volunteering in their community, The Duke of Edinburgh Award both benefits others and contributes to their own growth and well-being.

I am thrilled to now be an Award Leader, and I look forward to working with teens one on one and offer guidance as they complete the various sections of the Award Program, within Holy Blossom. Our hope is that through participation in this program, our teens will be challenged to develop skills, and improve both themselves and our Holy Blossom community, and that young people will realize that they are capable of affecting real change through their various endeavours.
