Yom Yerushalayim / יום ירושלים

Yom Yerushalayim, also known as Jerusalem Day, commemorates Jerusalem’s reunification in 1967. This day begins on 28th day of the month of I’yar in the Hebrew calendar. This year, Yom Yerushalayim begins at sundown on Saturday, May 12, 2018. This day is declared in Israel as a national minor religious holyday thanking God for victory in the Six-Day War and for answering the 2,000-year-old prayer of Next Year in Jerusalem.

Around the world, Jewish communities mark Yom Yerushalayim with a range of events. In some communities, recitations of the Hallel prayer for praise and thanksgiving are included. Parties, singing and dancing, special meals and lectures on the history and future of Jerusalem are common throughout. In Jerusalem itself public reception by the mayor of Jerusalem, state ceremonies and memorial services for those who died in the Six-Day War are also held.

This year, to mark Yom Yerushalayim and Israel’s 70th  Anniversary, Holy Blossom Temple is honored to announce a special celebration marking the day:

WITH SONG AND JUBILANT HARMONY, we gathered four community choirs to help us celebrate this special day!

  • SHIR HARMONY Choral Group
  • HOLY BLOSSOM Temple singers and Temple choir
  • LACHAN Toronto Jewish chamber choir

Both Israel’s 70th birthday and the celebration of Jerusalem Day, are milestones in our historical memories. We hope to see many of you celebrating with us on this special occasion.

What? No Nowakowsky?? Anyways sounds like a great evening. Kol Ha Kavod L’Cha. I know how much work this takes. Beni. I have 12 monthly 20-minute spots on an internet TV studio already paid for. They have 100,000 viewers. When can you come to promote your event(s)? I have to book the studio in advance. -Ron 416 658-3610
