The Betrayers by David Bezmozgis is the book we’ll be discussing on Sunday October 25, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Room 209.

Baruch Kotler is a Soviet Jewish dissident, now a disgraced Israeli politician who opposes the settllements in the West Bank. His political enemies attack him and expose his affair. He and his mistress flee to Yalta, a resort in Crimea where he spent some of his youth. There, he comes face to face with the person who, forty years earlier, had denounced him and caused Kotler to be imprisoned.

A day in the life of Baruch Kotler, who now must face up to all the betrayals in his life.
