Like Dreamers; the Story of the Israeli Paratroopers Who Reunited Jerusalem and Divided a Nation by Yossi Klein Halevi

In 1967  Israel won the Six-Day War and one of the triumphs was the reunification of Israeli West Jerusalem and Jordanian East Jerusalem. This was accomplished by a group from the 55th Paratroopers Reserve Brigade.

Halevi tracks down 7 members and traces their lives in the following years. While united in their experiences with the paratroopers, it is fascinating to hear & see the ideological differences that emerge so strongly  and that reflect modern Israel today. A fascinating read.
