Join us at Beth Tzedec Congregation, 1700 Bathurst Street at 7:00 PM, on Thursday December 6th as keynote presentation by Professor Jonathan Sarna, of Brandeis University, a pre-eminent scholar and author on the history of Jewish life and institutions in America presents on the future of congregations in North America.

Professor Sarna will present a broad social and cultural history of large synagogues as the preferred institution in North America, and explore whether the model remains well suited to the current diversity and challenges of our communities. Jonathan Sarna is the Joseph H. and Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University.

A panel discussion will follow, moderated by Professor Jeffrey Kopstein, Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto The panel will include Rabbi Miriam Margles, Danforth Jewish Circle and Rabbi Martin Lockshin, of the Toronto Partnership Minyan.
