Barry Campbell has been a member of Holy Blossom Temple for approximately 30 years. Barry practiced law for many years (first as a corporate associate and partner at McCarthys then at the Torys firm). From 1993-1997 Barry served as the Member of Parliament for our Riding, serving as Vice Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance and as Parliamentary Secretary to then Finance Minister, later Prime Minister, Paul Martin. Barry and his wife Debra have a long and deep involvement with community organizations as longtime supporters of the New Israel Fund, JF&CS, UJA, and as patrons of the Jewish Film Festival.
Barry served on the Board of Directors of the Bathurst Jewish Community Centre. Barry was involved in the visioning exercise at Temple which led to the decision to build a new building and he served on the architectural selection committee. Barry was selected to participate in and is a graduate of the Wexner program for community lay leadership. Barry and Debra’s two sons, Matthew and Jeremy, attended Holy Blossom Sunday School and became Bar Mitzvah. In his current professional life Barry services as a government relations and strategic policy advisor assisting clients in complex transactions and public policy issues. Clients benefit from his background in law and the public sector.
