The first Israeli non-Orthodox rabbi, Rabbi Miri Gold, is due to receive payment for her rabbinic work in the near future—a huge accomplishment for the movement.

And yet, it is the Ministry of Sports and Culture who is to pay Rabbi Gold and all non-Orthodox rabbis.

There are great distances to travel toward social justice and religious equality in Israel. At the fore of the work being done toward justice and freedom is Anat Hoffman and the Israeli Religious Action Center.
