Counting Up, Not Down.

by Rabbi Karen Thomashow.

The question is asked as to why we count up the days between Passover and Shavuot, and not count down as is intuitive.

The answer can be found here, by clicking on my blog this week.

Please do follow-up by visiting www.notmyselftoday.ca. Not Myself Today is a campaign for Partners for Mental Health, a new national mental health organization focused on accelerating the social movement for better access to care, support, and funding for mental health services and research.

When our tradition counts up, and not down, we do so for reasons including those which would also motivate us to support and participate in a significant campaign such as this.
