The Holy Bs notched another big win with a decisive 16 – 4 victory over our rivals from Beit Rayim.
The Bs scored runs in all but two innings and played very solid defence only allowing the opposition to score runs in two of their nine innings.
Richie Borins’ 10 year old son Jack kept track of scoring for the game and, in honour of his birthday a few days ago, was allowed to pick the offensive and defensive stars of the game.
On defence, Jack chose David Rosenberg for his highlight reel diving catch in one of the early innings while the game was still close. Honourable mention goes to Marc Levy who played very well at 3rd base and to the Allan Lyons/Joe Cass combination who made the plays at first base look easy today.
On offence Jack went with Jordan Glicksman who hit the Bs’ only homerun of the game (a 2 run shot), was 3 for 4, scored three runs and was a single away from hitting for the cycle. Wow!
Here are some other offensive highlights for the day:
- Each of Joe Cass and John Phillips reached base in all three of their plate appearances.
- Randy Cass, Ryan Abrahamson and Marc Levy were all 3 for 4 today including two doubles for Randy and two triples for Ryan that may have been inside the park HRs at some of the other parks where the fence may not have slowed them down.
Many thanks to our fans including: Barry Silver, Nathan Cass, Jon Davis’ son, Quincy Gryfe, Jack Borins, Jerry Borins and Lorraine Weygman.
